Closing Hours:
All places of business where alcoholic beverages are kept, sold, stored for sale at retail, served or consumed, including without limitation thereto, cabarets, nightclubs, road houses, saloons and public dance halls where alcoholic beverages are kept, sold, stored for sale at retail, served or consumed, shall close their places of business at 12:00 midnight and remain closed until 6:00 a.m. of the following morning, except that they shall be closed from 12:00 midnight Saturday until 6:00 a.m. on the following Monday morning; and, during the hours when same shall be closed, all business activities on the premises shall cease.

It shall be unlawful for any person, other than the proprietor or his employee, to stay or be found in any barroom, saloon or other place where alcoholic beverages are kept and sold between the hours when such places are required to be closed.

However, any person holding a Class "R" restaurant establishment license shall be entitled to sell, serve, or allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages of low content or light wine in conjunction with the service of meals to be consumed on the premises between the hours of 12:00 noon and 10:00 p.m. on Sundays.

These closing hours do not apply to bottle clubs. These provisions also do not apply to any bona fide cigar stand, newsstand, drugstore, restaurant, hotel, motel, or grocery store provided that this establishment is prohibited from selling, serving, displaying or permitting to be displayed in, on or about such premises any alcoholic beverages from 12:00 midnight until 6:00 a.m. of the following morning, and from 12:00 midnight Saturday until 6:00 a.m. on the following Monday morning. During this time, these businesses shall keep all alcoholic liquors or beverages covered.

WARD 1--Sales Regulations:
In Ward 1, no person shall produce, manufacture, rectify, blend or handle, sell, use, distribute, store or consume: Beer, porter, ale, fruit juices, wine or other alcoholic liquors of an alcoholic content greater than 0.5% alcohol by volume, but not exceeding 6% of alcohol by volume; or Malt, vinous, spirituous, alcoholic or intoxicating liquors containing more than 6% of alcohol by volume.

WARD 6--Sales Regulations :
In Ward 6, no person shall produce, manufacture, rectify, blend, distill, process, sell, offer to sell, solicit orders for the sale or, distribute, deliver, or serve any alcoholic beverage containing more than 6% of alcohol by volume.

WARD 7—Sales Regulations:
In Ward 7, no person or persons shall sell, distribute, produce, manufacture, handle, or store any beverages: Of low alcoholic content containing more than 3.2% alcohol by weight and not more than 6% alcohol by volume or Of high alcoholic content containing more than 6% alcohol by volume, either for consumption on the premises or by package only.

WARD 8--Sales Regulations:
In Ward 8, no person or persons shall sell, distribute, produce, manufacture, handle, or store any beverages: Of low alcoholic content containing more than 3.2% alcohol by weight and not more than 6% alcohol by volume; or Of high alcoholic content containing more than 6% alcohol by volume, either for consumption on the premises or by package only.

WARD 9--Sales Regulations:
In Ward 9, no person or persons shall sell: Any beverage of alcoholic content containing 0.5% percent alcohol by volume and above, either for consumption on the premises or by package or Any beverage containing more than 6% alcohol by volume, either for consumption on the premises or by package.

Location Regulations:
No permit shall be granted to anyone to engage in the business of selling or distributing alcoholic beverages within the city whose business premises are situated within 300 feet, or less, from a public playground or from a building used exclusively as a church or synagogue, public library or school, except a school for business education conducted as a business college or school.

Sleeping Prohibited:
It shall be unlawful for any person to lie or sleep on the counters, tables, chairs or floor or other place in any barroom, saloon or other place wherein alcoholic beverages are kept and sold.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Signage:
Each person holding a license under the provisions of this chapter shall post and display in a conspicuous place on each licensed premises a sign which shall clearly read as follows, "WARNING: Drinking alcoholic beverage during pregnancy may cause severe physical or mental birth defects."

Closing Hours:

All places of business where alcoholic beverages are kept, sold, stored for sale at retail, served or consumed shall close their places of business between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. of any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and between the hours of 2:00 a.m. on Sunday until 12:00 noon on Sundays. During the hours when the premises shall be closed, all business activity shall cease except as specifically authorized or provided by the provisions of this Code. Certain exceptions apply for the city governmental complex, hotel-motel hospitality rooms, and private clubs.

Closing provisions / cease of all business activities also do not apply to any bona fide cigar stand, newsstand, drugstore, restaurant, hotel, or grocery store, provided that this establishment does not sell, serve, display or allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages and is prohibited from doing so during the hours when this is prohibited (such places of business shall keep all alcoholic beverages covered up).

Hours of Sales:

It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or offer for sale or give away alcoholic beverages between the hours of 12:00 midnight, Saturday, and 5:00 a.m. Monday, and 12:00 midnight of any weekday, to 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

Exceptions:

Any person holding a restaurant establishment Class R license shall be entitled to sell, serve, or allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages of low content or light wine in conjunction with the service of meals to be consumed on the premises between the hours of 12:00 noon and 10:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Location Regulations:

No permit shall be granted to permit the conduct of alcoholic beverage businesses for any premises situated within 300 feet or less of a public playground or of a building used exclusively as a church or synagogue, public library, or school.

Noise Regulations:

No person holding a retail dealer's permit and no agent, associate, employee, representative, or servant of any such person shall do or permit any of the following acts to be done on or about the licensed premises: Play live or recorded music which is so unreasonably intrusive or offensive as to interfere with the comfortable enjoyment of the property of a person residing within 200 feet of the premises.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Signage:

Each person holding a retail dealer's permit shall be required to post, in a conspicuous place, a sign which shall read as follows: WARNING: Drinking alcoholic beverages during pregnancy may cause birth effects.
