Hours of Operation:
Class A and R On-Premises Consumption License Holders: The hours of operation shall be from 6:00 a.m. daily until 2:00 a.m. of the following day, Mondays through Saturdays, and from 11:00 a.m. Sunday daily until 12:00 a.m. Midnight Sunday. Whenever New Years Eve falls on a Sunday, all class A and R license holders shall be allowed to operate on New Years Eve until 2:00 a.m. the following day, and the premises must be vacated by 2:30 a.m. the following day. All Class A On-Premises Consumption locations shall be closed at 2:30 a.m. until 6:00 a.m., the same day, Monday through Saturday, and from 2:30 a.m. Sunday until 11:00 a.m. and from 12:30 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. Monday.
Class B Off-Premises Consumption License Holders: The hours of operation shall be from 6:00 a.m. daily until 2:00 a.m. of the following day. All Class B Off-Premises Consumption locations may remain open 24 hours per day, however, no alcohol may be sold, dispensed, or given away from 2:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. daily, Monday through Sunday. Certain exemptions apply.
Class P On-Premises Consumption License Holders: The hours of operations shall be from 10:00 a.m. daily until 12:00 a.m. of the following day. All Class P locations shall be closed at 12:30 a.m. and may not sell alcoholic beverages before 10:00 a.m.
Class M Manufacturer's License Holders: The hours of operation shall not be limited, except as follows:
Class M license holder with on-premises consumption: The hours of operation of a Class M which also holds a Class A license and operates any on-premises tasting room (other on-premises consumption facility or service point of any sort) shall be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. of the following day, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m. of the following day, Friday and Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. on Sundays for those areas which serve or dispense any alcoholic beverages. The hours of operation for the manufacturing operation shall not be limited.
Class M license holder with off-premises consumption: The hours of operation of a Class M which also holds a Class B license and operates any sales point for off-premises consumption of any sort shall be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. of the following day, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m. of the following day, Friday and Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. on Sundays for those areas which serve or dispense any alcoholic beverages. The hours of operation for the manufacturing operation shall not be limited.
Sunday Sales:
Motels, Hotels, Restaurants, Convention Facilities & Private Clubs: Motels, hotels, convention facilities, riverboats and private clubs that offer family-type outdoor recreational facilities shall be permitted to serve alcoholic beverages between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight Sunday to guests, members and other private functions as long as all requirements are met but shall be prohibited from selling package goods or opening bars or lounges to the general public during the specified hours.
Non-Profit Organizations: Religious, charitable, fraternal, veterans and other private clubs shall be permitted to sell alcoholic beverages between 11:00 a.m. Sunday and 12:00 Midnight Sunday as long as all conditions are met.
Location Regulations:
No license or permit shall be granted to any applicant when the property upon which the business is to be conducted is within 300 feet of any property used exclusively as a regular church or synagogue, public library, school or orphans' home (except a school for business education conducted as a business college or school, and except a state college or university), or within 300 feet of a public playground, or a daycare center. Certain exceptions apply for bona fide hotels, wholesale dealers, railway cars, or fraternal organizations.
Open Container Law:
It shall be unlawful to sell, disburse or permit the sale or disbursement of alcoholic beverages or liquors, including beer, in any open container for consumption off licensed and/or leased premises; or to furnish open containers to patrons for the intent and purpose of removal and consumption of alcoholic beverages and liquors, including beer, off the licensed premises and/or leased premises.
Employee Licenses:
Classified Employee License Required: Any person employed or used in a Class A or R licensed retail business or a licensed limousine service who, as a function of their duties, dispenses, sells or serves any alcoholic beverages shall be required to be licensed. Persons required to hold permits under this section shall be referred to as classified employees and that classification shall include, but not be restricted to mean bartenders, barmaids, waiters, waitresses, cocktail waiters, cocktail waitresses and chauffeurs employed by a licensed limousine service (does not apply to a person holding a dealer's license, or to a person holding a waiter/waitress alcoholic beverage permit).
Waiter/Waitress License Required: Any person employed or used in a Class A or R licensed retail business whose primary function is to take orders for and serve food and food items and who also takes orders for and serves alcoholic beverages in conjunction with the serving of those meals is required to obtain a waiter/waitress license.
Retail Clerk License Required: Any person employed or used in a Class B licensed retail business who, as a function of their duties, dispenses, sells or serves any alcoholic beverages is required to obtain a retail clerk license. This includes but is not limited to managers, sales clerks, retail clerks, and check-out counter clerks.
Prohibited Acts:
Local regulations prohibit permitting any classified employee to consume any alcoholic beverages on the licensed premises during hours of operation of the business or during the person's normal working hours.
Forbidden Promotional Practices:
The following promotional practices between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day are forbidden: Sell or otherwise furnish any alcoholic beverage that is free of charge whether associated with an admission fee or cover charge or not. Sell or serve any alcoholic beverage at a price fixed on an "all you can drink basis." Sell or otherwise furnish alcoholic beverages at a price which is less than 60% of the usual, customary or established retail price charged for such alcoholic beverage drinks by that establishment. Sell or serve to all patrons or classes of patrons multiple drinks for a single price. Sell or serve an increased non-standard volume of alcohol in a single container for consumption by one person. Conduct games or contests that involve drinking alcoholic beverages or the awarding of alcoholic beverages as prizes. Engage in any other practice which has as its specific purpose to encourage or permit patrons to drink in excess. Advertise or promote in any way, either on or off the premises, a practice prohibited under this section.
Municipal of Baker Ordinances
Legal Hours of Operation - Sunday Sales - Location Regulations - Zoning Regulations - Removal of Alcoholic Beverages from the Premises - Employee Permits Required
Hours of Operation:
The hours of operation of Class A, Class B and Class R license holders shall be from 6:00 a.m. daily until 2:00 a.m. of the following day, Mondays through Saturdays. It shall be a criminal offense for any holder of such a retail dealer's license/permit or a servant, agent or employee of such retail dealer to dispense any alcoholic beverages between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays, and between the hours of 2:00 a.m. Sunday and 6:00 a.m. Monday following, except as follows:
Class A (high and low alcoholic content) and Class B (beer) license/permit holders, who realize at least 60% of their monthly revenues from the sale of merchandise other than alcoholic beverages, may sell beer between 11:00 a.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight Sunday provided all record requirements are followed.
Class R (restaurant) permit holders may sell beer, porter, ale, fruit juices or wine, of an alcoholic content greater than 0.5% of alcohol by volume, or any malt, vinous, spirituous, alcoholic or intoxicating liquors containing more than 6% of alcohol by volume between the hours of 11:00 a.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight Sunday in connection with the serving and selling of meals and provided that all restaurant requirements are met and that no bar or lounge be opened to the general public during the same period. The intention is to permit persons to be served alcoholic beverages only as part of a meal.
Certain religious, charitable, fraternal, veterans and other private clubs may also be allowed to sell certain alcoholic beverages between the hours of 1:00 a.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight Sunday if all conditions are met.
Restaurants, grocery stores, drugstores or other businesses exempted by ordinance may remain open for the sale of other items permitted by law, but any sale, dispensing, possession in open containers, or consumption of alcoholic beverages at such places of business during the prohibited periods is expressly forbidden.
Sales Restrictions:
The sale of beverages of low alcoholic content containing more than 3.2% alcohol by weight and not more than 6% alcohol by volume within the city is permitted subject to the provisions put in place by the city.
The sale of beverages of high alcoholic content containing more than 6% alcohol by volume in the city is prohibited except: The sale of beverages of high and/or low alcoholic content for consumption on the premises in the city is permitted only on the premises of restaurant establishments which have been issued a "B" and/or "R" permit; and The sale of beverages of high or low alcoholic content by the package only and not for consumption on the premises is permitted only on the premises of business establishments which have been issued an "A" permit.

Zoning Regulations:
All sales of beverages of low or high alcoholic content shall be conducted only on premises with a zoning of C-1 or a less restricted zoning.
Removal of Alcoholic Beverages from the Premises:
It shall be unlawful to sell, disburse or permit the sale or disbursement of alcoholic beverages or liquors, including beer, in an open container for consumption off licensed and/or leased premises; or to furnish open containers to patrons for the intent and purpose of removal and consumption of alcoholic beverages and liquors, including beer, off the licensed premises and/or leased premises.
Employee Permits Required:
Any person who is employed in a class R licensed restaurant business who, as a function of his/her duties, dispenses, sells or serves any alcoholic beverages must obtain a classified employee permit and pay a fee to be employed in this position.
Retail clerks, including sales clerks, retail clerks and checkout counter clerks, (but not including waiters and waitresses in class R licensed businesses) who are employed in class A or class B licensed retail businesses who, as a function of their duties, dispense, sell or serve any alcoholic beverages, are required to obtain retail clerk permits and pay a fee to be employed in this position.
In addition to other qualifications, the person must be of good character and reputation and over 18 years of age. It is the responsibility of the owner and/or manager of a licensed business to have available for inspection all permits of classified employees and retail clerks upon commencement and for the duration of their employment.
No license holder shall permit any classified employee to consume, and it shall be unlawful for any classified employee to consume, any alcoholic beverages on the licensed premises during the hours of operation of the business or during the normal working hours of the employee.
Zachary Municipal of Zachary Ordinances
Legal Hours of Operation - Sunday Sales – Exceptions - Location Regulations - Removal of Alcoholic Beverages from the Premises
Hours of Sales:
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell spirituous, vinous or malt liquor of any alcoholic content between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any day, and it shall be unlawful to sell such liquor between the hours of 12:00 midnight Saturday and 6:00 a.m. Monday.
Any restaurant, cafe or other business also having a permit to sell spirituous, vinous or malt liquor of an alcoholic content and which remains open for business between the hours of 12:00 midnight on Saturday and 5:00 a.m. Monday, shall be required, during said period, to keep or store such spirituous, vinous or malt liquor in a separate room or rooms which shall remain locked during said period from 12:00 midnight on Saturday to 5:00 a.m. on Monday.
Exceptions:
Retail dealers who realize at least 60% of their monthly revenues from the sale of merchandise other than alcoholic beverages may sell alcoholic beverages between 12:00 p.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight Sunday.
Where the sale of merchandise other than alcoholic beverages represents 60% of the monthly revenues, restaurants shall be permitted to serve alcoholic beverages between the hours of 12:00 p.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight Sunday.
Motels, hotels, convention facilities shall be permitted to serve alcoholic beverages between the hours of 12:00 p.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight Sunday to legitimate groups, guests, and other private functions, but shall be prohibited from opening bars or lounges to the general public during the prohibited hours.
Religious, charitable, fraternal, veterans and other private clubs, which are nonprofit organizations, upon certification as a nonprofit organization by the mayor and city council shall be permitted to sell alcoholic beverages between the hours of 12:00 p.m. Sunday and 12:00 midnight Sunday.
Location Regulations:
No permit shall be granted for any premises situated within 300 feet or less, of a public playground or of a building used exclusively as a church or synagogue, public library, or school. Certain exceptions apply.
In any subdivision where saloons are prohibited, but package sales of liquor are permitted, Class B package liquor permits may be issued in combination with Class A retail beer permits.
Removal of Alcoholic Beverages from the Premises:
It shall be unlawful for any person to remove an open container containing alcoholic beverages from any properties which are licensed or permitted by the provisions of the city Code to serve alcoholic beverages. Signs are required to be posted for the following types of licenses: For C-AB-l licenses: "Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Premises is a Violation of City Ordinances and Can Result in a fine and/or imprisonment." ; and For C-AB-2 and C-AB-3 licenses: "Leaving These Premises With An Open Alcoholic Container is a Violation of City Ordinances and Can Result in a fine and/or imprisonment."
