Hours of Sales:
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to sell, give or otherwise engage in dispensing of or permit the consumption of any alcoholic beverages in the Parish of DeSoto between 12:01 a.m. and 6:59 a.m., except on January 1, when the prohibition shall be between 2:00 a.m. and 6:59 a.m.

Hours of Operation:
Except for bona fide restaurants, it shall be unlawful for any person licensed under this law to sell or allow consumption of alcoholic beverages on its premises between 12:01 a.m. and 6:59 a.m. and it shall also be unlawful for any retail dealer or wholesale dealer to sell or allow consumption of alcoholic beverages on its premises between 12:01 a.m. Sunday and 6:59 a.m. Monday.

A "bona fide restaurant" shall be permitted to serve alcoholic beverages (only the types of alcoholic beverages that it is licensed to serve at other times) at dining tables as an accompaniment to food on Sundays, but only between 12:01 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. If a restaurant with a separate cocktail lounge desires to sell alcoholic beverages, it must close to the public the cocktail lounge at the times otherwise prescribed for retail dealers. If the restaurant has a bar for service of alcoholic beverages in the dining area, the bar shall be used only as a service bar for the dining tables on Sunday, and no alcoholic beverages shall be dispensed to the patrons from the bar itself but only at the dining tables by a waiter or waitress.

WARDS 1, 2, 3, 5, & 8--Sales Regulations:
It shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale alcoholic beverages of either high or low alcoholic content in any of the following areas:
  - Ward 1 including the Municipality of Keatchie
  - Ward 2 including the Municipality of Stonewall
  - Ward 3 including the Municipality of Stanley
  - Ward 5
  - Ward 8 including the Municipality of Logansport

Location Regulations:
No permit shall be granted for any premises situated within 500 feet or less distance of a building occupied exclusively as a church or synagogue, public library, public playground or school, except a school for business education conducted as a business college or school. Certain exceptions apply for bona fide hotels, railroad cars or fraternal organizations.

Prohibited Consumption:
It shall be unlawful for anyone to consume alcoholic beverages on the parking lot or any place owned or leased by the retail beverage permittee outside of the building where alcoholic beverages are sold.

Alcoholic Beverage Handling Employee Card:
An alcoholic beverage handling employee is any alcoholic permit holder's employee, or other person connected with an alcoholic beverage permit holder, who physically handles, sells or serves any alcoholic beverages or container thereof, for consumption, including, but not limited to; waiters, waitresses, barmaids, bartenders and managers.  A fee will be charged every two years for an alcoholic beverage handling employee card to all persons employed in any alcoholic beverage dispensing business. The sheriff is authorized to issue, without delay, an alcoholic beverage handling employee card when, in his discretion, he finds the applicant to be qualified. All cards expire two years from the date issued.
