Hours of Operation - Sunday Sales – Location Regulations

Hours of Sales:

The sale of any intoxicating, spirituous, alcoholic, vinous or malt liquors, whether of more or less than 6% of alcohol by volume, is permitted every day except as provided, restricted or prohibited. The sale of all intoxicating, spirituous, alcoholic, vinous or malt liquors is prohibited between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Closing Hours:

Any establishment where intoxicating, spirituous, alcoholic, vinous or malt liquors are the principal commodities sold or handled shall close and remain closed between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. This includes, but is not limited to, the bar or cocktail lounge portion of any hotel and/or motel and/or restaurant.

Hours for Consumption:

The consumption of intoxicating, spirituous, alcoholic, vinous or malt liquors in any public establishment, between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. is prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any house of public entertainment, or the holder of an occupational retail license, his employees or agents, to permit consumption of alcoholic beverages at their establishment or place of business in the Parish of Acadia (outside the corporate limits of incorporated villages, towns and cities) between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any day.

Location Regulations:

No permit shall be granted for any premises situated within 500 feet or less distance of a building occupied exclusively as a church or synagogue, public library, public playground or school, except a school for business education conducted as a business college or school. However, these restrictions shall not apply to any premises which are maintained as a bona fide hotel, railway car, or bona fide fraternal organization.

Hours of Sales:

The sale of all alcoholic beverages is prohibited between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. All bars, lounges, clubs and similar establishments shall be vacated between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday ,Friday and Saturday. Certain exceptions apply.

Sunday Closing:

It shall be unlawful for any permittee and licensee to sell or permit the sale of alcoholic beverages or alcoholic liquors or to have his place of business opened for business or otherwise to permit customers or other persons to be in or to come into his place of business or to have his lights on in his place of business or permit them to be turned on after the hour of 2:00 a.m., on Sundays and before the hour of 6:00 a.m. on Mondays following, except as otherwise authorized. Certain exceptions apply for bona fide restaurants and religious, charitable, fraternal and veterans organizations.

Location Regulations:

Low Alcoholic Content Beverages: No permit shall be granted for any premises situated within 300 feet of a public playground or of a building used exclusively as a church or synagogue, public library, or school except a school for business education conducted as a business college or school. Certain exceptions apply.

Noise Regulations:

No person holding a retail dealer's permit and no servant, agent or employee of the permittee shall do any of the following acts upon the licensed premises: Play live or recorded music which is so unreasonably intrusive or offensive as to interfere with the comfortable enjoyment of the property of a person residing within 200 feet of the premises.
